Mac n Cheese

Last night was interesting. Members of our local S.W.A.T. were driving up and down the street every few hours in search of a man who had kidnapped a little girl. It made my sister paranoid which passed onto me. And whenever there was a 'sound' coming from outside the confines of our room I had to go out and check it. So with my slightly heavy flashlight (that's right, I know flashlight kungfu) I would search the house. Only did it three times but it just makes you more paranoid.

Parole Officer Ria Cruz (one of my bestest friends) was called in to help patrol for the suspect. Although I never imagined Ria ever being in this type of work it's not a huge surprise. I know she can handle herself in whatever situation she puts her mind to. It's just a little surreal. She's the youngest in the team (22) and with her height (5'1 and a half, same as me) she looks even more unlikely. But she passed her training, batons, guns, being sprayed in the face with mace and everything.

Moving on....

Ghost Town is one of the Magnum In Motion multimedia essays which shows photographs Thomas Dworzak took for a TIME assignment. It is about the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans. I often watch the new essays and I have to say that this is one of my favorites. The photographs are great and Thomas Dworzak comments feel straight forward and honest. He talks about the condition of the residents, the inadequate response of the government etc. Its an Audio essay along with photographs so plug in your earphones or speakers.

P.S.
had mac n cheese
for lunch.

oh man, lan, i've been reading about that dude they're looking for on-line. that's some freaky stuff! can't believe they're around your house and stuff, that's crazy! don't blame you for being paranoid, lock your doors and put some tabasco in a spray bottle just in case. tell ria to be safe! didn't even cross my mind that she'd be doing that kind of stuff..

5'1"

love,
Aren
